Back to ground level
Got back home last night, legs aren’t as sore as I expected them to be, so alhamdulillah. Want to thank Zafar Iqbal for being the best host ever, Shaykh Umar for his companionship up and down the mountain, Shaykh Ruzwan for being himself. He is a hidden gem. Hamza and Mustafa for allowing me to enjoy their blessed company. And everyone else that I met on the trip.
Met Hamza Robertson (the nasheed dude) and his wife while trekking up, he’s a nice guy. I still won’t be listening to his nasheeds ( too “cutsy” for me, I told him too!
) but I’m looking forward to some new experimental things that he’s wanting to get out there in the mainstream, so may Allah give him tawfiq! Ameen.
I’d recommend everyone to try this out climbing Ben Nevis for Ulfa Aid at least once in their lifetime. It’s not as hard or impossible as it initially looks. It’s tough at times, but very rewarding.
Massive, massive thanks to everyone that sponsored me, you were all in my duas along the way. May Allah reward your generosity with His Generosity. Ameen.
I’ll be uploading some pics that I took inshaAllah.
Oh, and before I forget, I want to thank the beautifully amazing Anwaar Hussain, who was raising money for The Halimah Trust. You can ask him more about this wonderful initiative when you see him on DP
Salams!
